For most of my career, I've been accountable for results I could only deliver with other people. Many of those people didn't report to me, and only a few of those situations came with a title or authority. Most came with neither.

For a long time, I believed I needed to have the title, the authority, or the years of experience to be that "senior in the room" who got other people to get things done. So I worked towards them.

Years of experimenting and learning from various situations I found myself in, some that worked out well and many that didn't, showed me something else. Ultimately, when I shifted my focus from the results to the people who delivered them, the work came back faster. It came back more complete, sometimes better than I'd asked for. And, I no longer carried it all myself.

That way of working with people became my practice. The practice became the operating system I lived by. Now I work alongside corporate professionals who want the same outcomes for themselves, supporting them as they build their own practice for making that shift, one situation at a time.
